It was teased during the Super Bowl and now the full first trailer for Mission: Impossible – Fallout has been released.
The two-and-a-half minute video shows Tom Cruise taking a lot of punishment as he revives his character Ethan Hunt.
The sixth installment of the franchise looks packed with incredible stunts and action sequences as well as exotic locations and a bunch of famous faces.
The movie is directed by Christopher McQuarrie who directed Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and the plot sees Ethan once again facing off against the Syndicate’s Solomon Lane, played by Sean Harris.

Old foes: The sixth installment of the franchise follows on from 2015’s Rogue Nation and sees Ethan Hunt once again facing off against the Syndicate’s Solomon Lane, played by Sean Harris
The movie opens with a series of shots of Cruise on a motorbike, in a helicopter and driving a truck along with aerial views of Paris and mountainous landcsapes.
Lane provides the voice over for the first part of the trailer.
He is heard saying to Ethan: ‘Your mission should you choose to accept it… I wonder, did you ever choose not to?’
Lane continues: ‘The end you always feared is coming… and the blood will be on your hands. The fallout of all your good intentions.’

Back for another round of action is Ving Rhames along with Rogue Nation stars Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson.
Michelle Monaghan, who was in Mission: Impossible 3, makes a comeback.
This time around, Vanessa Kirby and Henry Cavill both join in the ride along with Angela Bassett.

Old friend: Michelle Monaghan, who was in Mission: Impossible 3 in 2006, makes a comeback
Cruise’s right hand man: Original castmember Ving Rhames, who’s appeared in all six movies (though not credited in Ghost Protocol) plays Luther again

Hunley is then shown in conversation with the CIA Director played by Bassett, who tells Hunley: ‘If he had held on to the plutonium, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
‘His team would be dead,’ Hunley replies.
‘Yes they would,’ she says. ‘That’s the job.’
New characters: Angela Bassett joins the franchise as the CIA Director and Henry Cavill is also on the team

Not much is known about the character Cavill plays but he seems to be on Hunt’s side – as he’s seen with Bassett’s CIA Director.

So the scene is set for Hunt to be on a mission both battling the Syndicate and his own people.
But it’s Cruise’s stunts that are always going to take center stage and he doesn’t hold back.
There’s even a glimpse in the trailer of the moment he broke his ankle while jumping between buildings in London.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout, which is still filming in London, is slated to hit movie theatres on July 27.
