And the 50-year-old fan favourite created chaos during his appearance when he got into a playful stoush with the show’s Banker.

According to the show’s rules, the Banker’s role is to make an offer of money to contestants who are free to take the cash or play on.

Tom, who was playing for charity, took exception to the Banker’s deal of $12,450.

‘That’s not the average of what’s left (of the money),’ a cheeky Tom complained.

Host Grant Denyer then intervened and challenged Tom.

‘Do you know maths?’ he asked.

‘Yeah, I’ve got a maths degree,’ replied Tom.

‘You have a banker that does not know how to do mathematics!’ he continued.

Fighting back laughter, Grant then took a call from the anonymous Banker, before Tom grabbed the phone

‘You don’t know maths,’ Tom screamed at the Banker.

Later the Banker appeared to take ‘revenge’ on Tom by making a second offer of $9,670.

Tom then continued to have more fun at the expense of the Banker.

‘Oh. I don’t like this, I don’t like this banker. He doesn’t know maths, and he’s gutless too. He doesn’t even show his face! He’s probably hiding under the tiers here somewhere,’ he said.
