Tom Hiddleston confirms at Comic Con how season 2 of Loki will begin

Season one of Loki finished on a nail-biting cliffhanger, with Loki discovering at the end of the episode that his world’s timeline had been rewritten.

And Tom Hiddleston has hinted that season two will begin with that famous finale scene, where Loki approaches Mobius – who fails to recognise him.

The Loki actor, 40, recounted the season one finale scene in full on stage at Comic Con, London on Saturday, where the star said: ‘I guess we’ll start from there!’

Unable to give anymore away about the upcoming new series, the Golden Globe Award winner said: ‘Okay so look, we can’t say anything unfortunately, but at the end of episode six, season one, Loki comes back to TVA.

‘He’s quite traumatised, he’s quite emotional, and he tries to explain what happens to Mobius, and Mobius doesn’t recognise him.

‘And then he turns to look at the statue of the timekeepers, but it’s not a statue of the timekeepers, it’s a statue of someone else… And I guess we’ll start from there,’ he revealed.

Recognising how little he was able to confirm about the new series, the British native offered to his onlooking fans: ‘I’m so sorry to disappoint you!’

Tom surprised fans at the convention, which took place at the ExCel centre in the Royal Docks, joining his co-stars Jonathan Majors and Sophia Di Martino for a 50-minute interview.

One fan wrote: ‘According to Tom Hiddleston today at MCM Comic Con, season 2 of #Loki will start with the last scene in season 1 finale where Loki approached Mobius who doesn’t know him.

‘Meaning the 2nd season will most likely start with Lokius, like how the 1st one started and ended with them’.

Others then responded, adding: ‘Which also implies they won’t be in a Multiverse of Madness. Didn’t expect it to happen but I hoped for them to make an appearance.’

Another wrote: ‘We still don’t know “for sure” if the Mobius at season 1 finale is our Mobius who’s somehow lost his memories or if it’s a Mobius variant. Nevertheless, Loki did end up WITH MOBIUS in the first season, and season two will most likely start with them too.’

A further Loki fan asked: ‘Okey? So like how does it work? If Loki and sylvie and mobius are rumoured to be in the multiverse of madness? And this will happen in a year we will get the movie but we will have to wait another 3 years for season 2 of Loki? So like wut’.

‘Pls can y’all just let it go? Sylki is going to be endgame no one’s gonna change that’, another user said.

‘He’s such a brilliant man of such experience and taste. I can’t imagine anyone else in that role.

‘He was very curious and attentive at first, extremely playful. I think once he locked into who mobius was, I think he had a really good time, you know?’

The Loki star continued: ‘We loved sitting across from each other and playing these long scenes, you know, kind of like a tennis match; it was just a pleasure from start to finish.

‘Every day it just kept getting richer and richer and better and better, and he’s so inventive in the moment and so responsive and so imaginative.

‘It ended up being a long process because filming was interrupted by the pandemic… He was very much a fellow,’ Tom told his doting fans.

Although no release date has yet been confirmed, Loki season 2 is expected for release at the end of next year or early 2023 on Disney+.
