Tommy Fury has dropped a major hint regarding a potential rematch with Jake Paul as he revealed it could take place within the next year.

Fury, 26, defeated Paul, 28, on a split decision following their eight-round fight in Saudi Arabia in 2023.

As Fury was dropped in the final round of the bout – but still came out as the victor – both stars have talked up the prospect of a rematch.

Speaking on Eddie Hall’s The Good, The Bad & The Beast podcast, Fury said: ‘Even now, people message me like ‘if you fight him again, I think Jake is going to beat you.’

‘Ok, Jake might have been active than me recently but you can’t get better fighting 60-year-old men [Paul beat 58-year-old Tyson on a unanimous decision back in November last year].

I do not care who you are. At 60, you are not who you were. For him (Paul) to get better, he needs fights like he had with me. He has got the L. I am not chasing the fight.

Fury was then pushed on who he would like to fight in the future, which saw him single out Paul and fuel talk of a rematch.

He added: “I think the Jake Paul fight. That is always going to be there because there is a lot of history with that fight.

‘It makes sense for both parties. There is not a doubt in my mind where I go into the ring with Jake Paul and I think he beats me.

Paul has not fought since his victory over Tyson but will make an eagerly-anticipated return to action this weekend.

However, he will make a return to action this weekend as he faces Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday in Anaheim, California.

A win for Paul would boost his chances of securing future bouts against some of the biggest names in boxing.

His opponent, Chavez Jr, will be appearing in just his second fight in four years.

The Mexican ended a three-year spell away from the sport last July when he fought ex-UFC star Uriah Hall, winning on a points decision.
