Tones and I reveals her husband was severely hungover at their ‘wild’ wedding and one of their guests had to be saved by a lifeguard

Tones and I has revealed her wedding to footballer Jimmy Bedford was even wilder than footage from the ceremony would have you believe.

The Dance Monkey singer, 27, said on Melbourne’s 101.9 The Fox on Wednesday that she and her friend almost drowned on her big day.

Shortly after tying the knot in a beachside ceremony in Bali, Tones climbed into a kayak with her friend who couldn’t swim.

‘My good friend Jack Mack, who can’t swim, was out on a kayak on the beach so I jumped in and went over to him and said, “Let’s just sit in the ocean in the kayak for a bit where no one can reach us,”‘ she said.

‘[I was] in my dress, and then the kayak started sinking – it fully sank to the bottom and lifeguards had to come and dive down and get the kayak and bring it back to shore.’

The notoriously private musician said another not-so-perfect thing about her wedding day was that her husband Jimmy was severely hungover.

‘We split up into separate groups the night before the wedding. I hung out with my friends and he hung out with his, so the boys told me the next morning they were having breakfast and they heard him [puking] from the bushes,’ she explained.

‘He has now told me that it was the most hungover he had ever been in his life.’

Despite these setbacks, the Melbourne native said her wedding was ‘beautiful’.

‘It was beautiful, I know I made it look like it was just a rave on social media, which is what I was going for, but it was really beautiful,’ she said.

Footage of the nuptials she shared on social media showed guests dancing wildly, drinking and jumping into a pool fully-clothed.

One male attendee even showed off a tattoo of Tones and I, real name Toni Watson, on his arm.

The singer captioned the clip: ‘Can’t take Frankston out of the people,’ in reference to the south-east Melbourne suburb she grew up in.

She also posted a photo of herself looking glamorous in a long silk dress as she posed alongside her new husband.

Tones announced her engagement to Jimmy back in January, 2021.

The singer shared a photo of the pair kissing as she held up her hand to show off her diamond ring.

In her caption, Tones simply added a ring emoji, as well as tagging Jimmy, who she had been dating for two years.

Jimmy – nicknamed ‘Bedders’ – is a former brickie and player for Victorian AFL team, the Frankston Bombers, who now follows the Dance Monkey hitmaker around the world on tour, as her stage technician.
