More than 4.1 million beauty related images are saved on Pinterest every month in Australia.

But around the world women are carefully curating specific trends – including ’70s-style fringes and Rapunzel braids – and ‘pinning’ them to their social channels for later inspiration.

In Australia, it’s safe to say that makeup-wise less is definitely more. There has been a 55 per cent increase in saves for ‘natural makeup’ since this time last year, with faces like Shanina Shaik leading the charge.

But in South Korea it’s all about the hair – and making it stand out from the crowd. The Asia Pacific territory has seen an influx in the searching of ‘hair perm’ in the last year at 205 per cent.

Meanwhile in Sweden the pink hair trend of the millennial era has taken off in a big way, with a 120 per cent increase in searches for ‘pink hair’ in the last 365 days.

With 80 per cent of the population there born with fair-hair, it’s particularly easy to bleach and dye their locks a fuchsia shade.

But it’s not for the faint hearted – the colour will need to be maintained to avoid turning a sallow pastel mere weeks later.
