Yes, it is very little, but don’t forget that in this case, we are talking about a station wagon with a third row of seats. If the third row is removed, the volume of the trunk increases to 218 gals (0.83 m³). This is a parameter that is worth attention.
Škoda Octavia in the Combi
The Škoda Octavia in the Combi body is the best-selling station wagon in Europe. We must admit it’s not surprising. The car has a spacious trunk. In addition, this configuration can be equipped with an all-wheel-drive transmission.
In the fall of 2019, a new, fourth generation of Octavia was presented. The Czech manufacturer presented a car that, in terms of equipment, isn’t inferior to more expensive Volkswagen models.
It’s the reason some experts assumed that the prices for Octavia would increase significantly. At the same time, if you’re looking for a practical and fuel-efficient family vehicle model, Škoda Octavia will suit you best.
Hyundai i30 Wagon
This model isn’t much different from a regular hatchback. The only contrast is the trunk. Its volume is 160 gal (0.61 m³).
However, when the seats in the second row are folded, the free space increases to 435 gals (1.65 m³). In 2020, an updated version of the car appeared. Its debut was supposed to take place at the Geneva Motor Show.
Unfortunately, the car had to be presented online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
SEAT Leon Sportstourer
The SEAT Leon Sportstourer is similar to the Škoda Octavia Combi configuration. The Spanish station wagon is built on the same platform. At the same time, its trunk is smaller and reaches 163 gals (0.62 m³).
In the cabin, there is a virtual 10.25-inch dashboard and an automatic transmission selector. In addition, the basic configuration already has an electromechanical parking brake, an engine start button, and an 8.25-inch multimedia system screen.
For an additional fee, the Leon Sportstourer can be equipped with an additional touchscreen and a built-in SIM card, as well as voice and gesture control functions.
Peugeot Rifter
Even though this passenger minivan appears small, it has enough space for a family. The model is presented in two versions: 14.5 ft (4.42 m) and 15.7 ft (ca. 5 m) long. There are five and seven-seaters available.
The trunk volume of the standard modification is 205 gal (0.78 m³).
The Rifter’s equipment list includes a multimedia system with an eight-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a navigation system with a real-time traffic display function, a projection display, and a rearview camera.

Volvo V60 Cross Country
The Volvo V60 in the Cross Country modification is probably one of the best all-terrain station wagons in the world. The model is built on the same platform as the XC90, the largest crossover in the Swedish brand’s lineup.
The list of equipment includes a descent assistance system, cornering stability control, an electronic stabilization system, and an autopilot operating at speeds up to 80 mph (ca. 129 km/h).
