 As we age, the small blood vessels in the skin – capillaries – become weaker, more prone to breakage, less elastic, and less efficient at delivering oxygen and nutrients, and eliminating toxins.

This decline is called vascular ageing, and impacts microcirculation in these vessels.

Reduced microcirculation leads to visible signs of ageing, appearing as redness or flushing, particularly around the cheeks and nose, visible broken capillaries, or spider veins.
