The topless Tongan once again stole the show as the muscle-bound athlete starred in the Winter Olympics spectacular closing ceremony.   

Cross-country skier Pita Taufatofua had a relatively successful games – he managed to achieve both his goals when he avoided hitting a tree and finished the 15-kilometer individual race.

The 34-year-old never had much hope of earning a place on the medal podium, having spent just 12 weeks of his life in and around snow.

At today’s closing ceremony, the oiled-up skier defied the freezing temperatures in Pyeongchang. and insisted on sporting his trademark look

And he was delighted with his performance in Pyeongchang, especially as he managed to avoid falling on the course.

The athlete became a TV and internet hit in 2016 when he walked shirtless into the opening ceremony at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro carrying the Tongan flag.

He braved the cold at the opening ceremony in South Korea to do the same, once again becoming a viral sensation.

After competing in his event, he revealed he had thought to himself, ‘Please God, not in front of everyone — don’t give me my first fall.’

Taufatofua managed to finish 114th of 119 competitors, with two finishing behind him and the others not finishing or being disqualified during the event.
