The club legend said he was pleased he could bring a sense of joy to Tottenham supporters
After watching the emotional messages Mabbutt told Tottenham’s official website: ‘Over the last 16 months, I’ve spent two hours a day speaking to fans from the age of 70 to 95.’ The club ambassador revealed.
‘By just talking to someone for a few minutes a day, you get a good understanding of whether they are in good spirits or struggling.
‘After what has been a challenging year for so many, being able to bring a small sense of joy to our fans has been incredibly worthwhile.
‘It was a great surprise to see and hear from some of them and I look forward to speaking to many more fans in the future.’
