Tottenham players were pictured in training for Tuesday’s massive Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

They looked all business, despite having a healthy 3-0 cushion which they acquired in an impressive first leg at Wembley in February.

Son Heung-min, Jan Vertonghen, and Fernando Llorente all got on the score sheet that night to give Spurs a huge advantage for their trip to Dortmund.

Harry Winks and Eric Dier have both traveled with the squad out to Germany, but it remains to be seen whether they will be fit enough to start the match.

Winks has been out of action due to a hip injury. He missed the north London derby draw with Arsenal, but returned to training ahead of the Dortmund match.

Eric Dier has also been out for a few weeks with tonsilitis.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was unsure if either would be getting any playing time tomorrow.

‘We need to assess both,’ said Pochettino in a press conference. ‘There are here because we need one day more to assess if they can take part.

‘Dier has been a long time out, maybe he can be on the bench, I don’t believe he can start, Harry Winks the same.’

Dele Alli is back in Spurs training too, however he is not thought to have made the trip to Germany. Kieran Trippier has also been left at home.

While Mauricio Pochettino will be buoyed by some of his stars returning to action, he is still frustrated at the scheduling of matches in the run up to the game.

Tottenham’s last match was against Arsenal on Saturday, while Borussia Dortmund’s last outing was against Augsburg on Friday, giving the German team an extra day to prepare.

Spurs scraped through with a 1-1 draw, while Dortmund actually suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of Augsburg, so there may be a psychological factor in the upcoming Champions League match.

Bayern Munich have caught up to Dortmund in the Bundesliga, and are now level on points, with a narrow goal difference separating the two teams.

Meanwhile in the Premier League, a run of three games without a win has left Spurs all but out of the title race, with Manchester City and Liverpool pulling away.
