REVEALED: Tottenham will step up their bid to keep Harry Kane by offering him a post-playing role at the club alongside salary worth more than £400,000-a-week… as Daniel Levy scrambles for a solution with Bayern Munich circling
- Bayern have made Kane their No 1 target in the summer transfer window
- The England captain only has a year to run on his current contract at Tottenham
- Mail Sport understands Spurs will offer him a post-playing role to win him over
Tottenham are ready to tempt Harry Kane with a post-playing career at the club as they somehow look to entice him into signing a new contract.
Kane’s future is unclear heading into the new season with his contract due to expire in less than 12 months time.
Bayern Munich have made Kane their No 1 target this summer as Thomas Tuchel targets the England captain as the man he wants to lead his attack next season.
Paris Saint-Germain could move for the 29-year-old if they lose Kylian Mbappe.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy does not want to sell Kane and has placed a £120million valuation on the striker’s head, a fee that many clubs view as unrealistic given he has entered the final year of his contract.

But Thomas Tuchel and Bayern Munich have made the striker their No 1 target this summer
Ideally, Spurs want Kane to sign a new contract, but so far the forward has shown no indication of being willing to do so whilst the transfer window is still open.
A new deal would take Kane’s weekly earnings to beyond £400,000-per-week. But Mail Sport also understands that Tottenham will discuss Kane’s future beyond playing in hope of tempting him to commit to an extension.
The club are open to offering Kane a role beyond his playing days as part of talks over a new deal.
It remains to be seen whether Kane decides to go into coaching after retirement but there is likely to be an opportunity for Kane to start his coaching career at Tottenham in the future.
Ledley King, the club’s former captain, has coached and held an ambassadorial role since his retirement.
Ryan Mason, currently on the first-team coaching staff, has also remained at the club since his enforced retirement.

At West Ham, Mark Noble immediately became the club’s new technical director following his retirement in 2022.
Indeed, Tottenham are ready to explore an number of post-playing options for Kane in an attempt to persuade him to sign fresh terms.
Tottenham are desperately trying to avoid the possibility of losing Kane on a free transfer next season and a new deal would prevent that from happening.
But equally, there is a realisation that replacing Kane on the pitch would be hugely difficult – and expensive – given his brilliance on the pitch.
