Tottenham have rejected a £3m loan offer from Paris Saint-Germain for unsettled star Dele Alli.

Sportsmail understands the Premier League club have told their French counterparts that they will not consider letting Alli leave, which appears to indicate he is set to stay at the club beyond Monday’s transfer deadline despite clearly being out of favour under Jose Mourinho.

The rebuffed loan offer from PSG does not include an option to buy Alli permanently.

It remains to be seen whether the French club will return with a fresh approach over the weekend.

Sportsmail previously reported that PSG had ramped up their interest in the England international.

The 24-year-old was introduced by Mourinho at half-time in Spurs’ clash with Maccabi Haifa in the final round of Europa League qualifying on Thursday and scored a stoppage-time penalty to round off the 7-2 rout.

Despite the confidence shown by Alli in the audacious trick that led to him winning the spot-kick, he has been left entirely out of four of the last five Tottenham squads.

He started the club’s opening league fixture of the season against Everton and was replaced by Moussa Sissoko at the break.

Alli also started last week’s European victory over Shkendija, featuring for an hour in North Macedonia.
