Tottenham have released a bizarre video – featuring Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne – as they launched their new home kit for the 2024-25 campaign.

The north London outfit endured a mixed season in Ange Postecoglou’s first year in charge – as they narrowly missed out on a Champions League spot to Aston Villa.

They’ll be looking to go one step further in the upcoming campaign and, ahead of the new season, have opted for a new-look home strip.

For 2023-24, Spurs went with an all-white home kit however they’ve now ditched that and gone back to a kit incorporating navy blue into their white shirt.

The north London side released the kit on Tuesday and did so with a somewhat strange video that featured first-team stars Son Heung-min and James Maddison.

In the video, TV star Horne – who has also featured in The Catherine Tate Show and Bad Education – is sat with a cockerel that is coloured blue, instead of red.

Shot on location in Haringey, Horne discusses the upcoming campaign with the cockerel while Son and Maddison go head-to-head in a game of darts.

Maddison is known to be a big fan of the sport and even made it his trademark celebration – which other stars began to mock throughout 2023-24.

He showed off his skills in the video as he hit a no-look shot against his South Korean counter-part, inside the London pub.

Fellow first team stars from the men and women’s teams – Bethany England, Jessica Naz, Yves Bissouma, Matilda Vinberg, Guglielmo Vicario and Dejan Kulusevski – all feature as well.

Speaking about the campaign, Horne said: ‘As a life-long Spurs fan, this is a dream campaign to be a part of – the new kit looks awesome.

‘The cockerel has always been a massive symbol of pride for me, so it’s great to have that front and centre. The cockerel is at the core of our identity as a Club, so it’s fun to celebrate that. It’s what makes us Spurs.’

The club confirmed that the Kit will be worn for the first time during the Club’s pre-season fixture against Hearts on Wednesday 17th July.

Recently, Spurs midfielder Bissouma was reportedly mugged outside of a five-star hotel in Cannes this weekend, with two robbers ‘spraying him in the face with tear gas’ before they made off with his ‘£260,000 watch’.

Bissouma, 27, was ‘pounced on by two hooded men as he got out of his car’ on the Promenade de la Croisette, a road that runs parallel to the hotel and the seafront.

The outlet also claims that the incident occurred at approximately 4am on Sunday morning, with the midfielder reportedly attempting to seek safety away from the muggers inside the French hotel – but its doors were locked.
