Tottenham star Lucas Moura warns his team-mates that Manchester United will be ‘hungry’ after humiliating loss to Liverpool and that it’s ‘always’ a dangerous time to play them despite their recent bad run of form

Tottenham star Lucas Moura is wary about a Manchester United response to their humiliating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

The Red Devils travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday with the hope of bouncing back after failing to win their last four Premier League games.

Tottenham are looking to recover from a defeat of their own, after they fell to a 1-0 defeat to West Ham at the weekend.

Lucas had told Standard Sport, that it’s ‘always a dangerous time’ to play United.

He added: ‘They are hungry because of the game against Liverpool and we are hungry because of the game against West Ham.

‘They have very good players, they have good experience in football and they’ll know how to pass this moment.

‘This is not our problem, it doesn’t matter the moment they have, we just need to do our best, go on the pitch and fight and do our game to get three points.’ 

United have had the week to recover and get themselves in good shape for Saturday’s clash, while Tottenham took a hard-fought Carabao Cup victory against Burnley on Wednesday.

Moura said: ‘It was a very important win, especially after the defeat against West Ham and before the game against United.

‘The feeling was very bad against West Ham because we played well and didn’t deserve to lose, and last night the feeling was very good. We played well, it was a very good performance, we deserved to win and now we go with everything against United.

Criticism has been thrown the way of Nuno Espirito Santo this season but his opposing adversary this weekend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in desperate need of a good result.

The Norwegian’s position at Old Trafford is far from stable and needs to bounce back from the Liverpool defeat with a good run of form.
