Tradesmen shot at on construction worksite in Victoria

Three men who were shot at on their construction worksite are scared to go back to work.

The tradesmen were working at a Westall St property in Victoria, on Thursday afternoon when a man shot at them through the fence after days of disputes, Herald Sun reported. 

One of the victims, bricklayer Harley Ibbott, 26, claims the alleged shooter had been stealing building material from the construction site and a major argument broke out when they were shot at.

‘We ended up getting into an argument again and next minute he’s got out his rifle and shot at us,’ Mr Ibbott told the publication.

Mr Ibbott was with his mates Lachlan Murchie, 20, and Jesse Moffat-Perez, 20, when they were attacked. 

‘It’s pretty scary having a gun fired at you,’ Mr Ibbott said. 

All three men were pretty shaken up after the incident, with Mr Murchie saying, ‘the bullet had missed me by an inch or two.’

Victoria Police attended the crime scene before 4pm attempting to speak to the man they believed who was hiding in the property. 

However, when officers entered the property the man and weapon were missing.
