Traffic chaos as two trucks crash in Sydney’s south-west and rescue crews try to free trapped driver

A two-truck crash has caused chaos in Sydney’s far south-west and left a 50-year-old driver trapped inside one of the vehicles.

Rescue workers were pictured desperately trying to free the man after the crash on the Hume Highway at Mount Annean near Campbelltown on Wednesday morning.

Both northbound lanes of the highway are closed approaching Narellan Road following the collision, with motorists urged to allow extra travel time.

A rescue helicopter has landed at the scene to assist the truck driver, who is believed to have suffered neck and back pain. 

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. 

Northbound motorists have been told to use Picton Rd, Remembrance Dr, Camden Bypass and Narellan Rd to return to the Hume Highway.
