Hairdresser to the stars, 26, dies suddenly ‘in her sleep’ – leaving the fashion scene in mourning as friends and family search for answers

The sudden death of a popular hairdresser to the stars has rocked the Perth beauty and fashion community.
Charlotte Pownall, 26, who once worked at Shane Dias Hair in Claremont, passed away on Saturday, her former employer confirmed.
The hair stylist was well-known in the city’s social scene and counted local celebrities including Samantha Wyllie, Lissy Graham and Love Island contestant Tayla Damir as her clients.
She was also the hairdresser for Bachelorette and fellow Perth resident Snezana Markoski when she tied the knot with Sam Wood in a Byron Bay wedding last November.

Ms Pownall’s cause of death has not been confirmed but she is believed to have died in her sleep, according to Yahoo News.
‘It’s with extremely heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Charlotte, we were so saddened to hear the awful news of her passing,’ Shane Dias said in an Instagram post.
‘You were one of a kind Charlotte; smart, beautiful, brave, selfless. You lived your life to the fullest; even though it’s been cut incredibly short,’ he continued.
Tributes have poured in for Ms Pownall, who has been described by fashion director Samantha Wylie as a ‘kind, happy soul.’

‘Your beauty shone from within and we are all lucky to have had the time with you we had. Taken far too young it’s hard to understand why! The best die young they say and girl you are most definitely one of “The Best”,’ Ms Wylie wrote in a poignant Instagram post.
‘Sending all my love and thinking of you guys. Charlotte was beautiful woman with so much energy, she will be so missed,’ one person commented.
‘I’m so sorry for everyone that loved her. That girl had great spunk and such a bright personality,’ another person said.
