Trainer of sexually assaulted horse says the filly has been left traumatised after the gruesome act

A young female horse which was sexually assaulted by a pervert has been left traumatised, her trainer says.

The two-year old horse was assaulted by Daniel Webb-Jackson, 31, after he broke into a stable in Grafton in northern New South Wales.

Following the shocking incident in January, the trainer noticed a ‘dramatic’ change in the horse’s behaviour and had to put her out in a paddock to ‘get her head right.’

‘The filly went from being quiet to just being highly strung, she changed in 24 hours,’ he told the Daily Examiner.

‘We had to put her in the paddock to try and get her head right.’

In police interviews Webb-Jackson admitted committing two sexual acts against the horse but said the animal wanted to have sex with him.

He claimed the young female horse gave him consent for sex as she winked at him.

He was caught after the stable owners installed CCTV cameras when they suspected a break-in a month previously.

The man was found by police crouched in the corner of the fourth stable and was arrested after a brief fight with officers.

Webb-Jackson pleaded not guilty to committing an act of cruelty but Magistrate Karen Stafford convicted him on Tuesday.

He was jailed for 10 months and fined $700.

It comes after the World Health Organisation recognized ‘compulsive sexual behaviour’ as a mental disorder.

The contentious term ‘sex addiction’ has been around for decades but experts disagree over whether the condition exists.

In the latest update of its catalogue of diseases and injuries around the world on Saturday, the WHO takes a step towards legitimizing the concept, by acknowledging ‘compulsive sexual behaviour disorder,’ or CSBD, as a mental illness.
