Trainspotters travel to see Chinese train that shoots sparks

Incredible footage shows sparks flying from a steam train creating a spectacular display as the locomotive powers through the night.

The clip was filmed in December 2016 but recently resurfaced online. 

It shows a train going down the Sandoling Coal Mine Railroad, in Xinjiang, China.

The Sandoling line in China is popular with trainspotters and many travel from across the world to see it.      

Spotters gather to watch the train which can pass through as frequently as every 20 minutes. 

Since the video has resurfaced online many have commented on the spectacle of the train ride.

One person said: ‘How beautiful, especially at night – thank you for this video!’

Another added: ‘Those fireworks are amazing’.

While some took a darker view of the train phenomena ‘What are they feeding that thing! The souls of the damned?’ one joked.
