Tram workers stood down for ordering fat-o-gram stripper

Three tram employees have been stood down for ordering a plus-sized stripper to their staff Christmas party.

The Yarra Trams workers organised a ‘fat-o-gram’ adult entertainer to the event, held at the Aghadeer Restaurant, in Brunswick, inner-city Melbourne, on December 3.

The presence of scantily clad performer provoked outrage, resulting in two official complaints and a formal investigation.

The stripper, going by the stage name Chantelle, was dressed as a french maid and hired to entertain an elderly retiring employee, Nine News reported.

The performance was seen as inappropriate by some of the staff present, who were made to ‘feel uncomfortable’.

‘He [the organiser] thought it would be a real hoot but the females were disgusted,’ a source told The Herald Sun.

‘They weren’t strippers per se but it was still inappropriate.’

An official investigation is now underway, and three employees have been stood down over the incident.

‘The actions of the event organisers are unacceptable and do not align with Yarra Trams’ values,’ and a Yarra Trams spokesperson.

‘The event is the subject of an independent investigation, which is yet to be finalised. Action is being taken to prevent this from happening again.’

Daily Mail Australia contacted Yarra Trams for comment.
