Traumatised London woman releases images ‘of her attacker’

Micha Birgitta, 31, had her nose smashed in the brutal attack

A woman beaten up in a savage late-night assault says she is doing the police’s job for them by issuing crystal-clear pictures of her alleged attacker.

Micha Birgitta, 31, had her nose smashed in the brutal attack while the thug knocked out her male friend in London’s East End.

Police hunting the crazed brute – thought to be high on drugs or drunk – put out blurred and grainy CCTV images of him that ‘could have been anybody’.

But now Ms Birgitta has sent dramatic stills from footage shot on her friend’s mobile straight to her local paper the Hackney Gazette in an attempt to catch him.

Ms Birgitta had just left trendy Shoreditch nightclub East Bloc with two friends when the biker rode straight into them in City Road and went flying.

The pumped-up yob jumped up and confronted the stunned revellers before punching Ms Birgitta in the face and knocking her friend out cold.

The Hackney Gazette ran an appeal from the Met Police in a bid to nail the thug earlier this month.

But the CCTV photos they released were ‘terrible’ and the suspect has still not been caught.

Ms Birgitta said she’s ‘scared of her own shadow’ knowing her attacker is still at large and justice has not been done.

And she can’t believe that a high-quality video taken on her friend’s phone was never released by officers targeting the attacker.

‘The CCTV is terrible quality,’ insisted Ms Birgitta, who’s still struggling to see properly.

‘Even his own mum wouldn’t recognise him in that video.’

Ms Birgitta, who works for a local tech company, said she’s ‘desperate’ for her assailant to be caught so she can move on with her life.

‘Whenever I see someone who looks like him I feel unsafe,’ she said.

‘I’m afraid of someone running up behind me again.’

Recalling the attack just before 3am on August 13, Ms Birgitta said: ‘He was super angry and pushed me away to get to my friend.

‘He was yelling about how it was our fault he fell over. My friend was drunk so he started arguing.’

The man ran off after punching Ms Birgitta and her friend. But he ran back as she rang 999 in a daze to raise the alarm.

‘He said: ‘Are you okay?’ and I said: ‘Do I look like I’m okay? I have a huge bump on my head’.

‘I said: ‘What’s your name?’ and he said it was Omar. I think he was on drugs or really drunk because him coming back was completely irrational. It made no sense.

‘Then he flipped me off and ran off again. I ran after him and was yelling at people to stop him – and then when I went back I saw my friend had been knocked out.

‘He’s OK now,’ said Ms Birgitta, who ended up with two ugly black eyes and cheekbone injuries as well as deep shock.

‘He was really lucky. I’m not all right. I still have pain in my nose and it’s crooked.

‘I have double vision in one eye. The doctors told me to wait four weeks – it’s been two months now and it’s still there.’
