Travellers park-up near children’s play area in north London recreation ground

Travellers have parked illegally on a popular North London park only yards from a children’s playground. 

Three caravans, a camper van and a Ford Transit have been spotted parked on the grass at the edge of the Albert Road Recreational Ground near Haringey, north London.

One twitter user asked the local council: ‘What’s the plan re: taking enforcement action against the Travellers at the Albert Road Recreational Ground?’

This part of Muswell Hill in north London is home to the likes of Jessie Wallace, McKenzie Crook and John Torode. 

Houses on the road overlooking the park cost an average of £565,000.

Last month, five masked youths demanded money and phones from young boys playing in the north London park.

Haringey Council said police have served the travellers with an eviction notice and it is anticipated they will move on within 48 hours.
