Cambridge University has been invaded by travellers just a week before students return to lectures.
At least 20 caravans have parked at the West Cambridge site which houses several departments including physics and veterinary medicine.

At least 20 caravans have parked at the West Cambridge site which houses several departments including physics and veterinary medicine
Caravans lined up along the road next to the University’s West Cambridge site
A University spokesman said: ‘The University is aware of occupants who are illegally on private land and we will continue to monitor the situation, following the correct legal procedures. We hope that the situation will be resolved peacefully and swiftly.’
This is the second time this month travellers have pitched up at Cambridge University.
It took nine days to clear the travellers off the site after they moved in on September 9.
