Travis and Jason Kelce BOTH break down in tears on their podcast as they hail ‘awesome’ mom Donna

Emotions ran high for the Kelce brothers on the first episode of their podcast after they faced each other in Super Bowl LVII.

The two became the first pair of brothers in NFL history to play against each other in the league’s biggest game when Jason Kelce and the Philadelphia Eagles took on Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the end, Travis and the Chiefs held on for a 38-35 win and the franchise’s third title.

But the real winner may have been Donna Kelce – the mother of the two who showed up to the game wearing a half-and-half jersey for each of her sons’ teams.

On the latest episode of the ‘New Heights’ podcast, both Kelce brothers shed tears when they spoke about seeing her on the field.

‘The moment I saw mom is when I got really emotional, because man, it was so awesome…,’ Jason Kelce began before tearing up and stopping himself.

Tears also began flowing from Travis and they both stopped to compose themselves for the rest of the episode.

Jason continued: ‘It was awesome for… you know she was on top of the world for… for a week.’

Travis agreed, saying, ‘She was the heavyweight champ, man. She was on top of it and she shined the whole time man.’

‘That was the coolest part. Mom, you absolutely killed it. Dad, you’ve been killin’ it.’

Jason added, ‘It was just so cool, man. To see, you know, her get to celebrate in that with us. It was an awesome moment. Just so happy for her and so happy that, you know, she got her moment, Dad got his.

‘So yeah I was the only, ironically, you know, you lose the Super Bowl and you’re crying after the game, and they’re not tears of sadness, they’re tears of joy.’

Later in the podcast, Travis opened up about Jason being the inspiration for him to get into football.

‘The crazy part is I would never be playing this damn game if it wasn’t for you,’ Travis told his brother. Jason replied, saying ‘Stop, yes you would.’

‘It’s the truth, man, I followed your footsteps into it. When you started playing football… so you started playing hockey, I started playing hockey. You started playing football, I started playing football.

‘I’ve kinda just been followin’ your footsteps throughout this whole gig and to go through everything leading up to this moment – or leading up to this year – and then having the year that we had, and then meeting you at the mountaintop brother, it was like we were on top of that thing together man.

‘But I screwed up a few years of my life not being able to play on the field with you and I always hated Philadelphia for not giving me that opportunity knowing that I had f***ed it up so many times.

‘I just wanted that one chance to, you know, team up with my dog the way that I thought it was supposed to be. And I got so much respect for the Eagles organization.

‘And things happen for a reason man. It was cool to break the barrier of two brothers going against each other. I don’t think the story would have been the same, I don’t think the drama would have been the same.

‘I don’t think people enjoy our family the same this week that they did if it’s any other way. So in a sense, I don’t hate the Eagles as much as I used to.

‘I have some appreciation for [Eagles GM Howie] Roseman and [Eagles owner Jeffery] Lurie taking [former Eagles tight end] Zach Ertz.’
