Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes walk Morgan Wallen out at Arrowhead Stadium – and singer wears Chiefs jersey with Harrison Butker’s No 7

Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes walked with country singer Morgan Wallen as he took the stage at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday.

Before heading back to the football field next month, the Kansas City Chiefs star duo served as Wallen’s entourage while he prepared to serenade fans at the home of the Super Bowl champs.

While the quarterback and tight end sported street clothes to the show, Wallen unsurprisingly wore a red Chiefs jersey in honor of the team.

However, fans were torn over the singer-songwriter dawning the No 7 – the digit worn by controversial kicker Harrison Butker on the field.

In May, Butker urged men to ‘fight against cultural emasculation’ and claimed women are destined to be ‘homemakers’ while giving a commencement address at Benedictine College.

Butker’s speech was full of his conservative views, not only on gender roles but on abortion and vaccines as well.

As a result, fans were outraged and cried foul over his worldview. Tennis legend Serena Williams also shaded Butker during the ESPYs following a segment that honored female athletes.

While pictures from the show circulated, comments regarding his number choice appeared split.

‘I was ready to go to the car but he redeemed himself w Pat and Travis,’ one user wrote.

‘Love how he’s reppin Butker!’ another added.

No stranger to controversy himself, Wallen was under fire in 2021 after a video of him using a racial slur surfaced. However, another angle of his performance at Arrowhead shows that he was not exactly wearing a Butker jersey.

The same user that posted the picture of Wallen with Kelce and Mahomes posted a shot from behind him on stage, writing: ‘Since this is coming up in the replies: no, that’s not a Butker jersey. Wallen’s last name is on the back.’

The reason behind Wallen’s number choice remains a mystery. However, the number 7 may be a nod to one of his hits ‘7 summers’ from 2020.

As for Kelce, Mahomes, and the team, they are back on the training grounds after an eventful summer.

The Chiefs’ title defense and quest for a threepeat will begin on September five against the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead.
