Travis Kelce will have no problem handling the extra attention that comes with dating Taylor Swift, says the president of his NFL team Kansas City Chiefs.

Mark Donovan has rejected claims that the attention Swift brings would be a distraction for Kelce and the team, especially in regard to 34-year-old himself.

‘Travis is a smart team player,’ Donovan said to People. ‘He can handle it and has been very professional.

‘Our locker room has the maturity, leadership and respect to handle it.’

It comes after Kelce himself addressed media on Friday and said that he accepts the added media interest that surrounds himself and the pop star.

‘As all the attention comes, it feels like, you know – I was on top of the world after the Super Bowl and right now even more on top of the world now,’ he said.

‘You have got a lot of people that care about Taylor, for good reason. Got to keep living and learning and enjoying the moments.

‘We’re learning with the paparazzi taking photos all over the place but it comes with it.

‘I’ve always been pretty good at compartmentalizing and being able to stay focused din this building. I will just keep rolling with that, man.

‘Everybody is having fun with it, whether I think they are overdoing it or not. I know I brought this to myself and I’m fortunate enough to have fun with it. All that really matters is that it isn’t p***ing anyone off, over here at least.’

In the latest episode of his New Heights podcast – which he co-hosts with his brother Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles – he criticized the NFL for the amount of attention it was giving Swift when she was at his games.

NBC cut to Swift 17 times during Sunday’s game, to which Kelce said: ‘Damn, that’s crazy. That’s like once a drive. Mom told me everyone was enjoying themselves.

‘They are not there to get thrown on the TV. You never know you get caught throwing down a big old cheeseburger and you look like an idiot.

‘There are certain things you just don’t want to be on TV at all times.’

Swift was at the game in New York with some of her A-list friends, including Ryan Reynolds, his wife Blake Lively, and Hugh Jackman.

It is not yet known if she will be at the Chiefs game against the Vikings in Minnesota on Sunday afternoon.
