Traffic has been thrown into chaos after two trucks were involved in a crash on a major Sydney motorway Friday afternoon.

Emergency services attended the scene of the crash on the M7 in Sydney’s west, with NSW Fire and Rescue working to extinguish a blaze from one of the vehicles.

Huge flames and black smoke could be seen pouring across the highway, which was closed southbound near Woodstock Avenue.

Northbound lanes were also affected following the incident, with traffic banking up for several kilometres.
