This is the moment a truck driver turns directly into oncoming traffic causing car to flip in Sydney’s west.

Footage uploaded to Dash Cam Owners Australia shows a vehicle approaching the intersection of Parramatta Road and Birnie Avenue at Lidcombe about 12.45pm on Wednesday.

In the recording, uploaded to social media on Thursday, the vehicle filming the incident is seen heading towards a green light on the straight road.

As the motorist proceeds past the double white lines at the top of the intersection, the truck in the adjacent lane obliviously turns right – despite the oncoming traffic.

The two vehicles collide and the vision flips on the side, indicating the vehicle has been struck and overturned.

A NSW police spokesperson was not able to confirm if police attended the scene.

Just five hours after the video was posted, more than 600 people reacted online and the clip garnered over 48,000 views.

In the comments below, Facebook users debated who was responsible and what care could have been taken to prevent the accident.

‘Cue the commenters who insist that the DC driver should have applied defensive driving, or could have stopped on the yellow light, or was clearly driving too fast. Victim blaming is the norm on this page,’ one man wrote.

‘Looks like it was a pretty big truck – how could you not see that coming towards you???’ said another.

One person was adamant the turning truck was in the wrong, citing: ‘Completely the truck driver’s fault; turning across traffic.’
