Trump again wishes his ‘enemies’ and ‘haters’ a happy 2018

At 5:18 p.m. EST, President Donald Trump dashed off what has become a holiday tradition – a tweet wishing his enemies a happy new year.

‘As our Country rapidly grows stronger and smarter, I want to wish all of my friends, supporters, enemies, haters, and even the very dishonest Fake News Media, a Happy and Healthy New Year,’ the president wrote. ‘2018 will be a great year for America!’

Trump-watchers have become accustomed to his holiday tweets, which in the past have targeted both ‘haters’ and ‘losers’ with greetings.

President Trump continued his holiday tradition of wishing his ‘enemies’ and also ‘haters’ a happy new year

Like last year's greeting, President Trump again wished a 'Happy and Healthy New Year' to his 'enemies,' this year including the 'very dishonest Fake News Media'

The most controversial tweet Trump sent out was one where he wished the ‘haters and losers’ best wishes on the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, in 2013

Last year, he stuck with simply wishing his enemies a happy 2017, sending out the tweet amid a presidential transition.

‘Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do,’ Trump wrote.

He finished the message by simply writing, ‘Love!’

In 2013, he sang a similar tune in a Thanksgiving tweet.

‘Happy Thanksgiving to all–even the haters and losers!’ Trump wrote.

His most controversial tweet with this theme, however, came earlier that year, when the then- businessman and reality TV star marked 9/11.

‘I would like to extend my best wishes to all, even the haters and losers, on this special date, September 11th,’ he wrote.

Before sending out his new year’s greeting, the president had spent his  last day of 2017 lunching with Florida Gov. Rick Scott at his Trump International Golf Club in nearby West Palm Beach.

He took to Twitter several times heralding the ongoing protests in Iran, differentiating himself from his predecessor, President Obama, who had a low-key response to similar protest for fear that the Iranian government would react more extremely if demonstrators looked too U.S.-aligned.

Tonight the president will attend a glitzy New Year’s Eve party at his Palm Beach, Florida, property Mar-a-Lago.

In the past the party has attracted celebrities like Sylvester Stallone, who attended the fete last year.

Politico reported that the ticket prices have increased for the party this year, costing $600 for a dues-paying member and $750 for their guests.

Last year they cost $525 for members and $575 for guests.
