The Sunday service contained some St. Patrick’s Day elements.

A choir sang the Irish songs ‘Be Thou My Vision’ and ‘Kyrie Eleison.’

The church was decorated in greens for the occasion.

Sunday also marked the second Sunday in Lent.

The president spent the morning in a tweet frenzy, complaining about ‘Saturday Night Live’ mocking him, trashing the late Sen. John McCain, and praising Fox News host Jeanine Pirro.

However, his twitter account was quiet while he and the first lady were at Sunday morning service.

Every sitting president has attended St. John’s Episcopal at least once since it was built in 1816. Pew number 58 is designated as the president’s pew.

St. John’s is often referred to as the ‘Church of the Presidents.’

The last time the first couple went to church was Christmas Eve at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C.
