Trump back at his golf club after Florida shooting

President Trump celebrated his holiday with a trip to his West Palm Beach golf club after forgoing the routine that takes him from one property to the other most weekend mornings when he’s in town out of respect for the Parkland shooting victims.

The president stayed away from the course on Saturday, a day he spent fuming on Twitter, and Sunday, when he hosted House Speaker Paul Ryan at Mar-a-Lago, his private Palm Beach resort.

A dinner with family at Trump International Golf Club followed their discussion of the president’s legislative agenda.

Trump had not made his regular am journey to the golf club during the three-day trip until Monday, when he was spotted wearing golf attire in a government SUV.

A White House spokeswoman did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request about the president’s activities at the club after the president was seen wearing a white polo and white hat in footage that aired of him rushing through town.

The president and first lady are due to depart Palm Beach today and return to Washington.

‘Have a great, but very reflective, President’s Day!’ Trump tweeted as he made his morning mecca to Trump International.

Trump has been tweeting up a storm since Saturday afternoon, touching on everything from Oprah’s ’60 Minutes’ interview to the Department of Justice’s investigations into Russian election meddling at the tragic shooting at a Florida high school 40 miles south of him.

‘Very sad that the FBI missed all of the many signals sent out by the Florida school shooter. This is not acceptable. They are spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign – there is no collusion. Get back to the basics and make us all proud!’ he said in a late-night rant.

Early the next morning, he was steaming about DOJ.

‘Never gotten over the fact that Obama was able to send $1.7 Billion Dollars in CASH to Iran and nobody in Congress, the FBI or Justice called for an investigation!’ he said in a reference to the 2015 nuclear deal.

From there Trump laid into the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, highlighting his acknowledgement in light of DOJ’s announcement on Friday that it was prosecuting 13 Russians for election interference that Barack Obama’s administration should have been more forthright prior to Election Day.

‘Finally, Liddle’ Adam Schiff, the leakin’ monster of no control, is now blaming the Obama Administration for Russian meddling in the 2016 Election. He is finally right about something. Obama was President, knew of the threat, and did nothing. Thank you Adam!’ Trump said.

The president then attempted to create some clarity on the issue of election meddling, having called the scandal a ‘witch hunt,’ ‘fake news,’ and ‘a hoax’ in the past.

‘I never said Russia did not meddle in the election, I said “it may be Russia, or China or another country or group, or it may be a 400 pound genius sitting in bed and playing with his computer.” The Russian “hoax” was that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia – it never did!’ he tweeted.

Ten minutes later, he added: ‘Now that Adam Schiff is starting to blame President Obama for Russian meddling in the election, he is probably doing so as yet another excuse that the Democrats, lead by their fearless leader, Crooked Hillary Clinton, lost the 2016 election. But wasn’t I a great candidate?’

The president continued to tweet for several hours on Sunday, suggesting with his commentary that he’d been watching the news for five or more hours that morning.

That afternoon Trump was seen at his resort with Ryan, the top GOP leader in the House and a Wisconsin congressman.

Late on Sunday evening the president was back on Twitter, this time complaining about Oprah’s CBS interview.

‘Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!’ he said of the talk show host who has ruled out a 2020 presidential bid.

The Trumps began their three-day trip to Florida with a meet-and-greet at a Broward Health North hospital, where they spoke to two victims of the Parkland high school shooting behind closed doors.

In front of reporters, Trump told a doctor at the hospital, ‘The job they’ve done is incredible and I want to congratulate you.’

‘It’s sad something like that could happen,’ Trump said of the massacre that snuffed out 17 young lives.

The Trumps also stopped by the Broward County Sheriff’s office in Fort Lauderdale on Friday evening.

He was joined there by Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Sen. Marco Rubio, who caught a ride on Air Force One with the president.

After hearing from hero cop Mike Leonard of the Coconut Creek police department, Trump said, ‘That was so modest, I would have told it much differently.

‘I would have said without me, they never would have found him,’ Trump proclaimed.
