Trump could TRIPLE Obama’s time on the golf course

CNN took its latest shot in its war with President Donald Trump by revealing that The Donald could be on track to triple former President Barack Obama’s time on the golf course in his first year in office.

On Saturday, the president visited the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach to play golf, marking his fourth straight day at a club.

According to NBC’s tracker, Trump has spent 80 out of 310 days in office at golf properties.

By comparison, Obama played 333 rounds of golf during his eight years in office and at this point in the first year of his term had played 26 rounds, according to Mark Knoller of CBS News.

Trump’s activity has, in fact, been harder to track as his administration has often refused to confirm whether he has played golf, leaving members of the general public to confirm the president’s whereabouts on social media.

The president has no public events scheduled for this weekend. His staff says he regularly takes meetings or does work while at his golf clubs.

On Friday, however, he did announce that he was playing with golfing stars Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson.

In October, Trump came under fire after it was revealed he golfed every weekend in October.

‘If I win I may never see my property – I may never see these places again,’ Trump said at an August 2016 event. ‘But because I’m going to be working for you, I’m not going to have time to go golfing, believe me.’

Many have been left wondering if CNN’s reveal is the latest in a long-standing feud between the president and the broadcasting network that escalated on Saturday when Trump tweeted about his broadcast rival late Saturday afternoon.

The 71-year-old wrote that CNN is doing a terrible job of representing the US to the world – claiming that Fox News really has Americans’ best interests at heart.

‘@FoxNews is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly,’ Trump furiously wrote on Twitter.

‘The outside world does not see the truth from them!’

It’s not clear why the president chose to capitalize the words he did.

Clearly fed up by Trump’s antics, CNN Communications quickly hit back at him in a tweet of its own.

‘It’s not CNN’s job to represent the U.S to the world. That’s yours. Our job is to report the news. #FactsFirst,’ the CNN PR team tweeted.

This tweet is his latest attack on the cable network, which he branded earlier this year as ‘fake news’ because he doesn’t agree with how it is covering his administration.

Former FBI director James Comey appeared to weigh in after Trump slammed CNN

Less than half an hour after Trump’s tweet, Comey tweeted, ‘Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.’ He attributed the quote to Thomas Jefferson, who wrote it in a letter to the physician, James Currie.
