President Donald Trump has once again hit out at his broadcasting rival CNN in a tweet late Saturday afternoon.
The 71-year-old wrote that CNN is doing a terrible job of representing the United States to the world – claiming that Fox News really has Americans’ best interests at heart.
‘@FoxNews is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly,’ Trump furiously wrote on Twitter.
‘The outside world does not see the truth from them!’
It’s not clear why the president chose to capitalize the words he did.
Clearly fed up by Trump’s antics, CNN international quickly hit back at him in a tweet of its own.
‘It’s not CNN’s job to represent the U.S to the world. That’s yours. Our job is to report the news. #FactsFirst,’ the CNN PR team tweeted.

This tweet is his latest attack on the cable network, which he branded earlier this year as ‘fake news’ because he doesn’t agree with how it is covering his administration.
Trump has before shown his clear preference for the conservative-leaning Fox – often tweeting praise of its anchors, stories and ‘honest’ coverage of his administration.
Today’s jab also comes amid tensions over a potential merger between AT&T and Time Warner – which the president starkly opposes.
The Justice Department allegedly told AT&T that the $85billion merger would only be approved if it sells off CNN’s parent company or DirecTV. AT&T denied that it offered to do so.
On Monday the department sued AT&T to block the merger with the justification that it will hurt competition and consumers.
Because of Trump’s obvious feelings about CNN, the department has drawn wide-ranging criticism for the move – believed by some to be biased by the president’s opinions.
On Tuesday Trump made a statement that the merger would be bad for the US.
‘Personally, I’ve always felt that that was a deal that’s not good for the country,’ he said.

This tweet also comes at a particularly interesting time for anyone who enjoys following Trump’s twitter escapades. On Friday Trump entertained millions with his exchange with TIME – claiming that he’d taken himself out of consideration for Person of the Year
Noah Syndergaaad used the media storm that ensued afterwards to jokingly say that he denied Sports Illustrated’s request to be ‘Sportsman of the Year’
Time itself commented on the president’s tweet to say that he was incorrect about their editorial process
This tweet also comes at a particularly interesting time for anyone who enjoys following Trump’s twitter escapades.
On Friday Trump entertained millions with his exchange with TIME – claiming that he’d taken himself out of consideration for Person of the Year.
‘Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year”, like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!’ he wrote.
His tweet created a media storm and instantly became a meme with several people copying the theme, but adjusting it to other topics.
New York Mets player Noah Syndergaaard used the opportunity to get in on the action, jokingly saying that he denied Sports Illustrated’s request to be ‘Sportsman of the Year’.
‘Sports Illustrated called and said I was probably going to be Sportsman of the Year, but it was going to take a long photo shoot and interview. I’m not proud of my recent perm and have a interpretive dance class at the interview time so I turned it down! No Thanks SI!!’ he wrote early Saturday.
Syndergaard isn’t the only celebrity to take a shot a Trump. Several other celebrities poked fun at the commander-in-chief including tennis star Andy Murray, actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus and actor Mark Hamill.
TIME itself commented on the president’s tweet to say that he was incorrect about their editorial process.
‘The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6,’ the magazine wrote on Friday.
