Trump hits out at Mueller’s ‘witch hunt’ Russian collusion investigation

President Trump gloated on Twitter on Friday after a Republican report declared there was no collusion between his 2016 presidential election and Russia.

The president said that ‘there should never have been a Special Counsel appointed’ as he shared the report’s findings.

The jab towards Special Counsel Robert Mueller raises question over whether Trump is considering firing the former FBI director, who was appointed to investigate the president’s ties to Russia.

The controversial 253-page report, published by the Republicans of the House Intelligence Committee, said their investigation found no evidence that Trump conspired with Russian officials.

However the reported added that the investigation found ‘poor judgment and ill-considered actions’ by the Trump campaign, as well as by Hillary Clinton’s.

‘House Intelligence Committee rules that there was NO COLLUSION between the Trump Campaign and Russia. As I have been saying all along, it is all a big Hoax by the Democrats based on payments and lies,’ Trump wrote Friday evening.

‘There should never have been a Special Counsel appointed. Witch Hunt!’ he added.

Hours before hand he wrote: ‘Just Out: House Intelligence Committee Report released. “No evidence” that the Trump Campaign “colluded, coordinated or conspired with Russia.” Clinton Campaign paid for Opposition Research obtained from Russia- Wow! A total Witch Hunt! MUST END NOW!’

Trump praised the report in a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel saying: ‘We were honored. It was a great report – no collusion which I knew anyway, no coordination, no nothing’.

He then dismissed the Meuller’s Russia probe as a ‘witch hunt’ which has racked up a series of guilty pleas and continues its investigation into Russia’s actions.

Hours after the report said there was no collusion involved, Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya spoke on NBC detailing her involvement with Trump campaign members.

In the interview she describes herself as a Kremlin informant and said that she met with Donald Trump Kr, Jared Kushner, and former campaign chairman Paul Manafort at Trump Tower in New York City.

The group met during his election campaign to talk about sharing damaging information about Hillary Clinton.

‘I am a lawyer, and I am an informant. Since 2013, I have been actively communicating with the office of the Russian prosecutor general,’ she reportedly said to NBC, according to the New York Times.

The Republican House Intelligence Committee report references that infamous Trump Tower meeting in June of 2016 but says investigators ‘did not ultimately obtain’ the information they sought.
