President Donald Trump dismissed a gathering political storm that could imperil his agenda saying the only reason to vote Democratic is if you’re ‘tired of winning.’

Trump made the statement a day after attacking Democrats who are holding up Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation, as series of polls have given Democrats a generic edge when it comes to control of Congress.

A new CNN poll Monday showed Republican Sen. Dean Heller slightly trailing his Democratic opponent, with top GOP target Claire McKaskill of Missouri barely leading her GOP challenger.

‘THE ONLY REASON TO VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT IS IF YOU’RE TIRED OF WINNING!’ Trump tweeted Tuesday, without further explanation.

Some observers have expressed concern that the stretched-out fight over Brett Kavanaugh could cost the GOP the House, as Trump and GOP leaders attack the female accusers claiming sexual assault by the court nominee.

Meanwhile, some Senate Democrats in red states are struggling over the upcoming Kavanaugh confirmation vote, which is likely to be held weeks before the Nov. 6 elections.

Democrats hold a seven point advantage in the latest generic congressional ballot, according to a Quinnipiac University poll.

It remains to be seen how the fight over the Brett Kavanaugh nomination will shape the election results

Meanwhile top target Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp trails her GOP challenger, Kevin Carmer, in North Dakota.

The GOP currently controls the Senate by a 51 to 49 margin. A Democratic takeover there would dramatically reshape the balance of power, forcing Trump to consult the minority on such things as judiciary nominations.

Trump often joked during the 2016 campaign about being so successful American would grow tired of winning, a line he referenced in the tweet.
