Trump Organization party may have flouted public space…

A holiday party for The Trump Organization held in the atrium of Trump Tower this week may be the latest case of the first family flouting a rule requiring it to get permission to use what has been designated public space.

The New York City planning department says it has no record of the company requesting to use the public atrium for a party.

Don Jr shared a photo from the Christmas party on social media, showing the atrium’s marble wall’s in the background.

Trump Jr went out of his way to say the group of women he posed with wanted the photo. He also hashtagged 'Christmas', re-emphasizing that it was not a 'holiday' party

Surrounded by women he said asked for the group photo, he called the party a ‘Christmas’ party and added #maga to the caption.

The landmark tower’s grand marble lobby is supposed to be open to visitors from 8am to 10pm daily under an agreement that Trump struck with the city back in the late 1970s in return for the special zoning rights to make the tower bigger.

Permission must be granted for a private event.

As one of a handful of privately owned public spaces in the city, the atrium can only be closed by the building owners for private events four times a year and doing so requires permission

The Trump Organization did not reply to requests for comment.

The Associated Press reported last year that the city had no record of prior approval for several Trump campaign events held at Trump Tower.
