Trump slammed by parents of kids killed on MH17 by Russian missile

The heartbroken parents of three children killed on the flight which was struck down by a Russian missile have slammed US President Donald Trump.

Mr Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a summit in Helsinki but failed to question his counterpart over MH17 tragedy in 2014 in their private meeting and press conference.

Anthony Maslin and Lin Norris’ three young children, Otis, 12, Evie, 10 and Mo, 8, were among the 298 people killed when the Malaysian Airlines plane was shot down by a missile over Ukraine on July 17.

The distraught Perth father slammed the US President online exactly four years after he lost his three young children on the doomed flight, calling out Mr Trump for the ‘irrefutable facts’ surrounding the tragedy.

‘Mr Trump, you invented and speak a lot about “fake news” but let’s try talking about something that’s not fake … let’s call them irrefutable facts,’ Mr Maslin wrote online.

‘That passenger flight MH17 was shot out of the sky and 298 innocent people were murdered is an irrefutable fact.

‘That the plane was hit by a Russian missile has been prove to be an irrefutable fact.

‘That this killed our three beautiful children and their grandfather, and destroyed our life and many other lives in the process, is an irrefutable fact.

‘That the man whose a**e you’ve just been kissing did this, and continues to lie about it, is an irrefutable fact.

‘You have no empathy for your fellow man, and you clearly have no idea what love is. So you have nothing.’

Ms Norris also touched on the American President’s meeting with Mr Putin, describing the leaders as ‘bullies’ who ‘shattered and wrenched apart’ her life in an emotional post.

‘Anger and power had overtaken the hearts of men. They had a missile, and they ended the lives of 300 … I’ll write of the visible and the invisible, the bruise coloured flower of mother love,’ Ms Norris wrote.

‘The kids hold me up with their golden ropes. They help me when I feel I can’t go on. When I close my eyes, I can see their smiles.’

‘The trauma of a loss so cataclysmic that it singled us out of all Australians and made us different.’

The couple joined the chorus of criticism against the two global leaders after Mr Trump refused to condemn Russia over the incident, which killed 38 Australians, during a meeting earlier this week.

The missile that downed the Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur flight was owned by Russia, an international investigation concluded in May this year.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop is aiming to start negotiations with Russia to ‘open dialogue around the circumstances leading to the tragic loss of innocent lives’.
