President Donald Trump fired another shot in his ongoing war of words with Ann Coulter over the US-Mexico border, calling the conservative pundit a ‘wacky nut job’.
Trump took to Twitter to insist that he is ‘winning on the border’ on Saturday evening following a day of golf at Mar-a-Lago.
‘Wacky Nut Job @AnnCoulter, who still hasn’t figured out that, despite all odds and an entire Democrat Party of Far Left Radicals against me (not to mention certain Republicans who are sadly unwilling to fight), I am winning on the Border,’ he wrote in a pair of tweets.
‘Major sections of Wall are being built and renovated, with MUCH MORE to follow shortly. Tens of thousands of illegals are being apprehended (captured) at the Border and NOT allowed into our Country.
‘With another President, millions would be pouring in. I am stopping an invasion as the Wall gets built. #MAGA.’

Coulter, who wrote a book praising Trump’s 2016 campaign, has been at odds with the president in recent months, frequently criticizing him for not following through on his campaign promise of building a border wall.
Trump has appeared largely unfazed by her attacks, remarking in a Fox News interview last month: ‘Ann Coulter, I don’t know her. I hardly know her. I haven’t spoken to her in way over a year.
‘But the press loves saying Ann Coulter. Probably if I did speak to her she would be very nice. I just don’t have the time to speak to her.
‘But she’s off the reservation but anybody that knows her understands that. I haven’t spoken to her, I don’t follow her, I don’t talk to her,’ he concluded.
Coulter responded on Twitter: ‘He seems to think “the reservation” is HIM, not his campaign promises.’

However, as of early January, US Customs and Border Protection had replaced several dozen miles of existing barrier along the border, but no new barrier had been built.
In February, Congress passed a measure to spend $1.375billion for an estimated 55 miles of border fencing – well short of the $5.6billion Trump had demanded.
Trump responded by declaring a national emergency, and the White House said it would use its emergency powers to allocate an additional $6.6billion for wall construction.
As of right now, there are physical barriers covering 654 miles of the border, which stretches for 1,954 miles in total, according to CBP.
Vehicle fencing, which can stop a car but is easy for a person to step over, covers about 280 miles.
Pedestrian fencing, which is designed to stop people crossing on foot, covers about 374 miles.

The president also launched an attack Saturday on California’s ‘grandstanding’ governor, Democrat Gavin Newsom, over the state’s immigration policies and its struggling high speed rail project.
‘I hope the grandstanding Governor of California is able to spend his very highly taxed citizens money on asylum holds more efficiently than money has been spent on the so-called Fast Train, which is $Billions over budget & in total disarray,’ Trump tweeted.
‘Time to reduce taxes in California!’
Trump was likely reacting to a CNN report in which Newsom is seen giving reporters a tour of a taxpayer-funded shelter for asylum seekers in San Diego.
‘The federal government should be doing this,’ Newsom told CNN.
‘[Immigration] is the federal government’s responsibility. These are people who came legally…[they were] processed legally, [they are] seeking asylum legally.’
