President Donald Trump continues raise private doubts about losing the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by 3 million votes and blames voter fraud, according to a report on the president’s embrace of conspiracy theories.
Despite finally acknowledging just weeks before his election win that predecessor Barack Obama was born in the U.S., the president also has been rekindling doubts about it in private conversations, the New York Times reported.
Advisors told the paper the president continued to raise his doubts in private, and an unnamed senator recalled the private conversation to the paper.
The senator ‘chuckled’ upon hearing it, according to the report.

The president has appointed a voter fraud commission to explore potential fraud from the 2016 election, although vote totals show the popular vote differential was not close.
Hillary Clinton beat Trump by some 3 million votes, although he beat her in the Electoral College after snatching away victories in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

The paper also says Trump has taken to raising doubts about the infamous ‘p****’ tape where he got caught on camera while filming an ‘Access Hollywood’ segment boasting about grabbing women at will.
‘We don’t think that was my voice,’ Trump told the the senator, a person familiar with the conversation told the paper.
Trump acknowledged speaking the words in an apology just weeks before the election. ”Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am,’ Trump said in October 2016 after the tape rocked his campaign.
‘I said it, I was wrong, and I apologize,’ Trump added.
