Trump takes on NBC’s Katie Tur with ‘fake news’ book tweet

President Donald Trump fired off an angry tweet about ‘fake news’ authors after NBC’s Katie Tur’s new book about her time covering Trump recounted an aides’ unwanted advances and the time Trump gave her an unwanted kiss on the cheek.

‘Fascinating to watch people writing books and major articles about me and yet they know nothing about me & have zero access,’ Trump wrote Tuesday morning. ‘FAKE NEWS!’

Tur’s book, titled ‘Unbelievable’ – a favorite Trump phrase – chronicles her months following him on the campaign trail, and came out Tuesday.

The subtitle is: ‘My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American History.’

‘NO ACCESS’: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks to NBC news correspondent Katy Tur on the golf course at his Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland. Trump tweeted that people writing books about him have ‘no access’

Tur writes about the time Trump went after her as a ‘third rate’ reporter, the time she pressed him on his invitation for Russia to hack Hillary Clinton’s emails, and the time he made her uncomfortable by planting a kiss on her cheek before an appearance on ‘Morning Joe.’

‘Before I know what’s happening, his hands are on my shoulders and his lips are on my cheek,’ Tur wrote, Axios reported.

‘My eyes widen. My body freezes. My heart stops,’ she writes.

Then she adds: ‘F—. I hope the cameras didn’t see that. My bosses are never going to take me seriously.’

During the campaign, Trump singled out Tur in tweets, calling her ‘third-rate reporter,’ as well as ‘disgraceful’ and ‘not nice.’

Tur, 33, doesn’t hold back, bringing up a time she says a married-with-kids Trump staffer hit on her.

‘Where can I go to meet 30-something single women?’ she says the aide told her.

Then she recounts a time the campaign sent towels and bottled water to Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio to mock him after a lousy debate performance.

Tur texted the staffer to confirm the information. ‘You need some? I’m sure you get all sweaty, too,’ the staffer wrote back, Tur writes.

Tur also recounts how she and other media members were sometimes yelled at by angry Trump crowds at his campaign rallies.

“They turn as one to boo at us in unison. Six thousand Trump supporters railing against 30 or so journalists — caged in the center of the arena like a modern-day Roman Coliseum,” she writes, the Hill reported.

‘Trump’s supporters are never quiet. They also play a lot dirtier. They call me ugly and dumb. They accuse me of sleeping my way to my job. They go after my family, and especially my father, who is transgender….They threaten my life,’ Tur writes.

Tur tells of a time she met Trump for an interview in Trump Tower in July 2015. Trump had a larger than life presence, she wrote.

‘And he’s orange. There’s no other way to describe him. He’s the color of orange marmalade, perhaps a shade darker, like marmalade on toast,’ she writes, USA Today reports.
