Donald Trump shared some harsh words for President Joe Biden in a Saturday night interview, claiming his Democratic rival will take the United States to ‘a point where the country can’t come back.’
He continued hammering the 79-year-old commander-in-chief on Sunday when he released a new ad claiming ‘Joe Biden stole Christmas.’
It comes as Biden grapples with a supply chain crisis and record inflation leading to empty shelves and high prices for frustrated Americans going into the holiday season.
‘This country has tremendous potential, tremendous, but we’re giving it away, and there’ll be a point where the country can’t come back, and we can never allow that point to be reached,’ Trump, 75, told Fox News.
He was speaking to host Mark Levin to promote his new picture-heavy coffee table book Our Journey Together, filled with images from his four years in the White House. The $75 book goes on sale December 7.

But during the interview Trump spent much of his time criticizing Biden and his policies, including the $1.75 trillion social and climate reform package Democrats are trying to pass in the Senate.
He claimed, seemingly out of the blue, that even Biden’s former boss is displeased.
‘I noticed the other day where Obama said “this is very dangerous” all of these – you know, what they’ve done. It’s too much for him,’ Trump said.
It’s not clear what he was referring to – though a number of former Obama administration officials have spoken out about some aspects of Biden’s presidency, the popular Democrat has expressed nothing but support for his ex-vice president.
But recently Obama’s former economic adviser Larry Summers said Biden was ‘behind the curve’ and speeding on a ‘downhill road’ when it comes to fighting inflation.
The prices of consumer goods rose 6.2 percent from October 2020 to this year, a rate not seen in more than three decades.
Last month the government said its consumer price index soared 6.2 percent in October from a year ago — the biggest 12-month jump since 1990
Trump seemed to comment on Summers’ remarks in the interview: ‘When they look at [Obama’s] top economic people are looking at this inflation, and they’re seeing these bills that are being passed for trillions and trillions of dollars where it’s like throwing money out the window.’
‘These are Obama people telling Biden people “you can’t do this” but they push forward anyway.’
He also compared the two Democratic presidents, claiming people are more vocal about their dislike for Biden because they were afraid to ‘insult’ Obama.
‘If you look, President Obama was very divisive, but people were more quiet about it. They didn’t want to insult him, but he was very divisive,’ Trump said. ‘But the Biden administration is far worse.’
A 32-second video by Trump’s Save America PAC also seized on Biden’s handling of the economy.

In the video posted on Twitter Saturday by the Trump War Room account, various television news soundbites are clipped together to paint a portrait of Americans struggling with high prices and shortages this holiday season.
‘Supply chain issues already putting a crunch on holiday presents now could also mean a Christmas tree shortage,’ CNN’s Anderson Cooper states in one clip.
Another features Fox’s Maria Bartiromo warning, ‘The supply chain crisis making it harder to get toys and gifts under the Christmas tree this year.’
The clip begins with the text ‘Biden’s Nightmare Before Christmas’ and ends with the phrase ‘Joe Biden Stole Christmas.’
The White House meanwhile has only recently admitted that inflation is a pervasive issue after months of downplaying rising prices as ‘temporary.’ Officials still maintain that inflation and the supply chain crisis are tied directly to the pandemic.
But all of these issues, Trump said on Saturday, are setting up for a red wave to take back Congress in 2022.
‘I think you’re going to see a big, big victory for Republicans in the midterms. I think it’s going to be very hard for them to come back that fast,’ he predicted.
