Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is relishing Wednesday night’s reunion with former club Juventus in Turin.
Pogba left Juve for Old Trafford in the summer of 2016 and this will be his first game back at the Allianz Stadium since then.
The Frenchman enjoyed a very successful four-year spell with Juve, winning the Serie A title every season, and he admitted that he was excited when the Champions League draw paired United with his old side in Group H.
Friday’s edition of the Tuttosport newspaper led with a story about midfielder Paul Pogba
Speaking to Tuttosport, Pogba said: ‘It will be a great pleasure to come back, Turin is my home, it’s the place where I scored my first professional goals.
‘The draw was crazy, I told my brother that we would take Juventus and it happened.’
Pogba learned a lot during his time at Juve and is still in contact with a number of players there, including Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala and Leonardo Bonucci.
He explained: ‘Cuadrado, Dybala, Bonucci… I’ve always listened to them and we’ve always talked about it, we were a family and obviously we stayed in touch.
‘When you’re close to men like (Giorgio) Chiellini, (Gianluigi) Buffon or (Andrea) Pirlo you can only learn.’
United lost the reverse fixture 1-0 when Juve visited Old Trafford last month, but Pogba and Co will still go into matchweek four second in Group H, two points ahead of Valencia.
Juve can guarantee top spot in the group with a win on Wednesday.
But both teams are in domestic action first, with United visiting Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon before Juve host Cagliari that night.
