The son of a CBS San Francisco news anchor was hospitalized after he was attacked by a herding dog belonging to a family friend.
Veronica De La Cruz shared details about the heart-stopping incident in a Monday Facebook post which appears to have since been removed from her page.
De La Cruz revealed her four-year-old son Hartley was forced to undergo surgery immediately after for his injuries.

‘Prayers for my son who was mauled by a dog this morning. I’m a total wreck of a mom right now and could use your support. Thank you,’ De La Cruz wrote to her Facebook page.
‘To everyone who reached out today, thank you. We are overwhelmed with all the love and prayers.
‘Hartley had successful surgery and is resting now. His CT scan was clear, no brain bleed. He may have another surgery on his eye tomorrow am.’

Hartley was reportedly attacked by a Catahoula cur, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The herding dog is typically ’50 to 95 pounds’ and ’20 to 26 inches at the shoulder,’ vetstreet.com reports.
While Hartley is currently resting and recovering, De La Cruz thanked her followers for their uplifting words of encouragement during the family’s trying time.
‘We will keep you updated. Thank you for all the love and support. Please keep praying for Hartley’s full recovery,’ she said.
