Tim Hortons may be known for its delicious donuts, but people are thrilled to find out that the company’s co-founder is just as yummy as its treats.
Not all fans of the Canadian donut franchise are aware that the late Tim Horton was a famous Canadian NHL hockey player with chiseled abs, but they do now thanks to a woman named Jen.
When @NHLhistorygirl shared an old photo of the business man shirtless on Twitter earlier this week, and people were shocked to learn that Horton was a total babe.
What a hunk: A Twitter user named Jen shared an old photo of Tim Horton shirtless in 1964 earlier this week, and people are going wild over the image of the restaurant co-founder
Cracking jokes: Dallas Ross Hicks joked that she didn’t know the Canadian retailer, which is known for its donuts and coffee, ‘sold beefcake as well’
Fan club: One Twitter user stressed that she would ‘drink his coffee and eat his donuts any day’
Going gaga: Another person used six siren emoji, writing: ‘Hunk Alert’
Twitter user @businesssocks put it best when she responded: ‘I’d drink his coffee and eat his donuts any day.’
The black and white photo sees Horton sitting on the ground next his dog and another man, but its hard to take your eyes off the former hockey star.
Horton has the hunky good looks and ripped physique of an Abercrombie and Fitch model, and it doesn’t hurt that he is leaning over in a seemingly seductive pose.
Athlete and entrepreneur: Miles Gilbert ‘Tim’ Horton was an NHL hockey player and co-founder of the Canadian fast-food chain Tim Hortons
Hubba hubba: Many of people weren’t aware that Horton was such a babe
Double take: The shirtless photo inspired plenty of memes, including this one of Chris Farley flipping up his sunglasses
Not only are the shirtless entrepreneur’s abs on display, a sliver of his boxers are peeking out from his pants.
‘That man never ate a donut in his life,’ a woman named Kelsey tweeted.
‘Uhhh, do I have a crush on Tim Horton now?’ H.G. Watson asked, while Dallas Ross Hicks joked: ‘I didn’t know Tim Horton sold beefcake as well!’
Twitter user @hotlipsstewie shared a meme of a man doing a double take, writing: ‘Damn I want some timbits…’
Back in the day: The NHL star has scored plenty of new fans on Twitter
Double entendre? Another Twitter user said she wanted ‘some timbits’ after seeing the photo. Timbits are the bite-sized donuts sold at Tim Hortons
Questions: H.G. Watson wondered if she was developing a crush on Horton
Amazed: Plenty of people were impressed by his sculpted muscles and ripped abs
And BuzzFeed wrote that Horton’s good looks ‘should be taught in every history classroom from St. John’s to Victoria’.
Other people pointed out that Horton couldn’t have possibly been chowing down on donuts and keep his incredibly sculpted physique.
‘Obviously wasn’t eating doughnuts. Holy crap @WitchpoliceFM wrote, and @CapnCornelius added: ‘I don’t get it–I’m eating his donuts and I don’t look a thing like this.’
Tragedy: Sadly, Horton died in a car accident in 1974, a decade after he started his namesake restaurant
‘Holy crap’: Plenty of people were quick to point out that there was no way Horton ate his company’s donuts
Confusing: One person wondered why he didn’t look like Horton after eating his company’s donuts
Don’t try it: Edward Hobolowski joked that ‘Tim Horton’s diet’ is a ‘scam’ that made him gain weight
‘I tried Tim Horton’s diet, it’s a scam,’ Edward Hobolowski joked. ‘I didn’t get any of the results like those pictures. Three Boston cream and coffees [per] day. I even put on pounds.’
Tim Hortons was founded by Horton and Jim Charade in Ontario in 1964, and Horton partnered with investor Ron Joyce three years later.
After Horton died in a car accident in 1974, Joyce bought out his family shares and continued to expand the fast-food chain, which is now a subsidiary of holdings company Restaurant Brands International.
It is Canada’s largest homegrown chain restaurant with locations in the US, Middle East, Asia, and most recently the UK.
