Twitter just made it easier than ever to save tweets and read them later.
The social media giant launched a new bookmark feature for all users around the world starting on Wednesday.
To bookmark a tweet, tap on the ‘Share’ icon and select ‘Add Tweet to Bookmarks.’
When you want to find it later, tap ‘Bookmarks’ from your profile icon menu.

‘From articles and threads to videos and GIFs, timelines are packed with Tweets that you don’t always have time to fully explore in the moment,’ product manager Jesar Shah wrote in a blog post.
‘You’ve told us you want to save them for later,’ she added.
Twitter noted that only the account owner can see which tweets they’ve bookmarked.
As several users pointed out on Twitter, this could be useful for situations like when Texas senator Ted Cruz’s account accidentally liked a pornographic tweet.
Twitter also said that that it’s adding a few new features to the share button, including the option to share a tweet via DM, email or text.
The company has been talking about rolling out a bookmarking feature since 2017, according to New York Magazine.
Described at the time as a ‘save for later’ feature, the company said it wanted to introduce such a feature because users were favoriting, or liking, tweets and direct messaging tweets to themselves if they wanted to read them later.
The bookmark feature is meant to resolve that issue.
‘We learned that you like to save replies so that you can answer later and that you may share a tweet hours or days later after you’ve bookmarked it,’ Shah wrote.
‘As a result, we all have an easier way to save, share and stay informed,’ she added.
Instagram rolled out a similar feature, called ‘Save for later,’ in 2016.
The tool lets users privately save certain posts, as well as categorize them based on topic into collections.
Many users were pleased with the new bookmarking feature.
But as with many Twitter updates, there were also some disgruntled users.
A few replied to Twitter’s announcement of the bookmark feature expressing their concerns.
Several users said they still want Twitter to release an ‘edit’ button.
When Twitter rolled out its 280-character tweets last year, many users expressed similar feelings.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said in 2016 that he was ‘thinking a lot about’ adding an option for users to edit tweets.
Though if history is any guide, users probably won’t be getting an edit button anytime soon.
