Twittered baffled by lipstick print inside toilet bowl

Never has the mental picture of a kiss been so revolting.

On Tuesday, a young man from Chicago named Veeresh Patil (who goes by @ClawedHumor on Twitter) took to the social media platform to post a photo of the inside of a toilet bowl.

What can be seen inside the toilet has left thousands of Twitter users both amused and disgusted — and it’s not anything anyone could have imagined.

How’d THAT get there? A Twitter user shared this picture of a toilet bowl with a lipstick mark in a surprising place

Huh? Even he seemed as a loss for how the mark got there, suggesting it was in a public toilet

‘Stranger Things 2018’ he wittily captioned the snap.

The close-up of the all-white bowl has a single mark, just above the water line: a pink lipstick print, quite clearly made by a pair of lips.

Naturally, many who’ve seen the image since then have expressed surprise and horror over how they image that mark came to be there.

Several left emojis — showing that they were confused, laughing, or retching — while other turned to GIFs.

‘I really want to hear this story…’ wrote one, though another countered: ‘I’ll be happy to spend the rest of my existence not knowing how this happened.’

‘Truly, a great mystery of our time,’ wrote a third.

Several possible scenarios were suggested, including that a woman wearing lipstick was given a ‘swirly’ (with her head dunked by a bully), that a BDSM humiliation fantasy was at play, and that someone was particularly impressed with a toilet-cleaning product.

Many also figured alcohol was involved.

‘Me after 12 sangrias,’ joked one.

The most reasonable theory, however, was offered by a woman named Ryan, who wrote: ‘My theory: girl blotted her lipstick by kissing a square of toilet paper and threw it in the toilet instead of trash, and it got stuck to the bowl and lipstick mark stayed after flushing.’
