Twitter’s hilarious reaction after Mueller is spotted getting help at Apple store

He may be the special counsel to what could become the most important investigation in the history of American politics.

But sometimes, even Robert Mueller has computer trouble.

The former FBI director was spotted at an Apple Genius Bar in Washington D.C’s upscale Georgetown neighborhood on Wednesday – and Twitter had a field day.

Journalist Kelly Cohen was the first to share the photo of Mueller on social media, revealing it had snapped from a friend of a friend’s Instagram story.

The photo shows both Mueller and his wife, Ann Cabell Standish, staring intently at the screen of a Mac while a Genius employee appears to demonstrate something.

A new Apple Watch, still in its box, appears to be on the table as well as a receipt and Standish is sporting Nike trainers under the table.

It remains unknown exactly why Mueller was at the Genius Bar, and who the laptop belonged to, but that didn’t stop Twitter from coming up with plenty of scenarios.

Many naturally joked about Mueller’s ongoing Special Counsel investigation regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election, which has led to dozens of indictments – including Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn.

‘So, Mr. Mueller, you can put all of the indictments on this color-coded spreadsheet?’ one caption joked.

‘Click here for INDICT, or here for INDICT ALL,’ another quipped regarding the investigation.

‘Hope all the indictments were saved to iCloud,’ another added.

One Twitter user joked that the Genius employee was showing Mueller how to put together an ‘Indictment Playlist’ on Spotify, even creating one for the tweet.

‘Sir, you’ve been using the indictment key way too much. We must replace with “all guilty af”‘, one caption quipped.

Other tweets joked about Russia in general, including one user who brought up the famous dossier.

‘Mueller: I was watching this video in which a couple of people are inside a Russian hotel and suddenly my laptop crashed,’ one caption read.

‘Whatever you do, do NOT open the folder that says “Golden Showers”. Trust me,’ another imagined the employee telling Mueller and his wife.

Others took on even more topical issues from the last two weeks, including the rumors regarding Rod Rosenstein's resignation or Stormy Daniels' reference about Trump's anatomy

One Twitter user imagined the employee finally cracking the issue that had been stopping Mueller from furthering his investigation all along.

‘Well there’s your problem. The passwords have to be entered in Russian or it won’t be recognized,’ the caption reads.

Another user referenced Donald Trump’s frequent presence on social media, creating a special comic out of the picture.

‘He knows that I can see his tweets, right?’ the thought bubble on top of Mueller’s head reads.

Some Twitter users skipped the jokes and instead heaped praise on Mueller's wife for rocking sneakers from Nike, which has stood in support of the NFL police brutality protests

‘So, my friend Rod needs a new computer. He has to give up his work laptop soon. What do you suggest?’ one caption imagines Mueller telling the employee.

And one Twitter user dared bring up Stormy Daniels’ reference when describing what she claimed resembled Trump’s anatomy.

‘So that’s what Toad from Mario Kart looks like,’ the caption says, perfectly matching Mueller’s intense but slightly horrified face.

Others joked about more common autotype errors, while one journalist joked about the ongoing feud between Mac and PC lovers.

‘Bob Mueller going Apple over PC has me seriously concerned about his judgement,’ quipped CNN’s David Wright.

And some Twitter users skipped the jokes entirely, instead choosing to heap praise on Mueller’s wife for rocking sneakers from Nike – which has stood in support of the NFL police brutality protests.
