Two men have been killed and three seriously injured following a collision involving a Jeep and VW Golf. 

West Midlands Police officers were called to reports of an accident on the A41 Black Country New Road in Wednesbury, West Midlands near to Patent Shaft Roundabout at 10.30pm.

The men, aged 21 and 37, were pronounced dead at the scene and their families have been informed.

A further three people sustained serious injuries and remain in hospital this morning following the crash between the black Jeep Cherokee and a black VW Golf.

The road was closed in both directions between Patent Shaft Roundabout and Moxley Junction for several hours to allow investigators to examine the scene, but has since reopened.

Sergeant Alan Hands from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: ‘We’re currently working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and whether any other vehicles were involved.

‘I’d ask that anyone who has information or witnessed what happened, in particular any motorists who were in the area and have dash cam footage to come forward and contact the investigation team.’
