Two killed and three wounded in Las Vegas shooting

  • Police identified victims as men and women in their 30s and 40s
  • Four persons of interest were detained during traffic stop; they were said to have had relationship with two victims who lived at Desert Pines Townhomes 
  • Police do not believe shooting was gang-related or random   

Two people were fatally shot and three others were wounded when gunfire erupted during a suspected domestic dispute at a Las Vegas apartment complex on Wednesday night.

Police say they received a 911 call at 8pm reporting shots fired in the courtyard at 3750 East Bonanza Road.

Responding officers found five people – men and women in their 30s and 40s – suffering from gunshot wounds at the Desert Pines Townhomes, reported Las Vegas Now.

Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the other three were transported to University Medical Center for treatment.

Of the three survivors, two were listed in critical condition and one sustained only superficial wounds, according to Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Metropolitan Police Department Capt Robert Plummer told reporters on Wednesday night that investigators were not sure what sparked the deadly shooting, but they think the incident could have involved a domestic dispute.

According to the police captain, two of the victims who lived on Bonanza Road had some sort of a relationship with four persons of interest who were detained in a car during a traffic stop following the shooting.

As of Thursday morning, no one related to the deadly incident has been identified, and so far no charges have been filed.

Police say they do not believe the rampage was gang-related or random.
